Hi Members,

I wanted to share an issue I’ve recently experienced and see if anyone else in the community is facing something similar.

A while back, a friend of mine using the Galaxy F04 (Type-C charging port) mentioned that his phone would only charge when the cable was inserted on one specific side. Despite trying different cables and chargers, the issue persisted. He even had the charging port replaced at a Samsung service center, but the issue remained unchanged.

Today, I encountered the same issue with my own phone — Galaxy S21 FE (Snapdragon 888 variant) running the latest software. While charging, I noticed that the cable was plugged in properly but the phone wasn’t charging. I flipped the Type-C connector and it started charging. However, after a few tries, it stopped working on one side completely. Then a warning popped up saying “Moisture or dirt detected in the charging port.”

I’ve tried cleaning the charging port and the cable carefully, but the issue remains. I'm planning to visit a nearby Samsung service center soon, as the phone is still under warranty.

Has anyone else faced this one-sided charging issue with their Type-C port? If you’ve found a solution, please share. This seems like it could be a broader issue affecting certain models.

Looking forward to your feedback.
Thanks!

There actually might be moisture in your port, same thing happened to a friend of mine using a moto phone, after letting it dry for few hours everything is working fine since then

PS: at service centre they were ready to replace the charging port 😂
