Possible Causes
1. *Software conflict*: The recent update might have introduced a bug or conflict with your earphones' drivers or firmware.
2. *Audio focus issue*: Android's audio focus system might be causing the media sound to shut down when a call is received.
3. *Earphone compatibility*: The update might have changed the way your phone interacts with your earphones, leading to compatibility issues.

Troubleshooting Steps
1. *Restart your phone*: You've already been doing this, but try restarting your phone in safe mode to isolate the issue.
2. *Clear earphone cache*: Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > Your earphone's name > Clear cache.
3. *Update earphone firmware*: Check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates.
4. *Reset earphone settings*: Reset your earphone settings to their default values.

Additional Tips
1. *Check for software updates*: Ensure your phone and earphones are running the latest software.
2. *Contact earphone manufacturer*: Reach out to the earphone manufacturer's support team for assistance.
3. *Try a different audio app*: Use a different audio app to see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem or a more complex software issue at play.

Having same issue on my S23. I've accepted that it's a software update issue but as i use my bluetooth earphones on a daily basis...restarting the device many times makes it's very annoying!
