Battery protection feature

Is it fine to use the battery protection feature? I personally feel that forcing the phone not to charge while the charger being plugged and power supply is there , hurts the battery even more. 

On addition to that,

What about using modes and routines to customize the maximum limit to 86%?

Your setting good too but battery protection is much worth. It'll be far better for battery health in long term.

Its good to use battery protection feature, also when the battery hits the 85% mark or the specified protection limit then the charger automatically cuts the power supply only if you are using the original one

With one ui 6.1 we get 80% , but it's not sufficient , so I use modes and routines to tweak it till 86% , is it safe ?
