The camera issues you're experiencing with your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, particularly after the 6.1 update, are frustrating.

The problems you've described, such as overexposed backgrounds, blurry and dark faces, and poor dynamic range, might be due to the camera's auto-exposure and auto-focus settings.

Here are some suggestions to help you improve your camera experience:

Camera Settings
1. *Disable "Scene optimizer"*: Go to _Camera settings_ > _Advanced features_ > _Scene optimizer_ and toggle it off. This feature can sometimes cause overexposure.
2. *Adjust "Exposure compensation"*: Go to _Camera settings_ > _Advanced features_ > _Exposure compensation_ and adjust the slider to -0.5 or -1.0 to reduce overexposure.
3. *Enable "HDR"*: Go to _Camera settings_ > _Advanced features_ > _HDR_ and toggle it on. This feature can help improve dynamic range.
4. *Use "Pro mode"*: Switch to _Pro mode_ and manually adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation to better control the camera.

Additional Tips
1. *Clean the camera lens*: Ensure the camera lens is clean and free of smudges or debris.
2. *Update camera app*: Ensure the camera app is updated to the latest version.
3. *Reset camera settings*: Go to _Camera settings_ > _Advanced features_ > _Reset settings_ to reset all camera settings to their default values.

Comparison with Vivo and OnePlus Phones
Different phone manufacturers have unique camera software and hardware configurations, which can result in varying camera performance. Vivo and OnePlus phones might have different camera settings or algorithms that help them perform better in certain scenarios.

By trying out these suggestions, you might be able to improve your camera experience and reduce the issues you're facing.
