After a day of experience, let's talk about the improvements and shortcomings of S25 Ultra compared to S24 Ultra. The most obvious feeling is the system. I use the same oneUI7, and the S25U has significantly better touch response (touch sensitivity is the key), animation details, and app fluency than the S24U.
This may be due to optimizations in the processor, memory, touch, system, and other aspects. In addition, in terms of animation presentation, the slightly rounded S25U performs more naturally in the later stages of the animation than the pure right angled S24U.
The second feeling is about the screen and sound quality. ProScaler technology does work, it's delicate and there's no need for a rag screen. Additionally, the previous S24U display of some solid color images has been greatly improved, which can be compared personally. I will also take a comparison later. The improvement in sound quality is absolutely obvious, and I suggest that you experience it offline. Remember to manually turn on Dolby Atmos, as offline machines default to not turning it on.
The third one is the narrow border appearance, especially when backlit. The total width of the black border and middle frame, which is only 2.3mm, is much better than the total width of the S24U, which is 3.4mm. Moreover, the body width and weight of 218 grams are more user-friendly for small hand users like me than the S24U.
Finally, the camera has lighter colors compared to the S24U. Overall, the saturation levels of the S23U, S24U, and S25U generations decrease in sequence, following a realistic style. Based on initial experience, the previous generation S24U has shown the most significant improvement in over processing of faces, while the poor viewing experience caused by excessive yellow and red contrast has been improved in this generation. At the same time, the video has also improved in this regard. The new telephoto algorithm has improved the appearance of the S24U's fragmented burrs (oil painting feeling). My dissatisfaction with the S25U mainly lies in the design of the fuselage. Although the change to the vertical middle frame is the general trend, the edge of the middle frame is still too sharp. It hurts the hand. The front middle frame almost has no chamfer and round treatment. It is the same treatment as the S24+, which leads to a poor feel and affects the appearance. The black edge was originally very narrow, but because there is no chamfer treatment, the middle frame and the black edge are on the same horizontal plane. Under most light conditions, the width of the middle frame and the black edge are mixed together, virtually increasing the visual width. In addition, the black edge of the S25U is flat Point radian, no specular reflection, which is the reason why the frame of the iPhone 16 Pro Max is not as narrow as that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max at first glance.
