Since Android 15 has been out for 6 months and we still don't have it on our last year Samsung phones. So when we get One UI 7, 6 months after android has been released. It will count as a year of update that we are promised?

When they said '7 years' they meant 7 major OS updates since every year a new version of Android is released, so from Android 14 - Android 21, you will get all the updates in a yearly cycle.

Yes you were supposed to get One UI 7 last year but time is irrelevant, only software versions are. So you will get One UI 7 to One UI 14, minimum.

But this is bull, we're stuck with android 14 and it been 6 months since android 15 came out and android 16 is already in beta. And it's rumored that android 16 might come out in 3 months while we're stuck on android 14 on a $1300/R30 000 phone.

The main problem was One UI 7 being an overhauled update which definitely took more time to get right, but now bugs are slowing down the release, especially since it was supposed to come out last year.

So now we have no choice but to be patient and hope the fixes in the new update don't break anything else and cause a further delay.
