can't see messages on top despite selecting appear on top option.

I want to see the incoming messages on top especially to facilitate OTP delivery while doing transactions on my phone.  It was working fine for a while but is no longer working now. I've already selected the messages app under the appear on top option but still doesn't work. Please assist.

ohk then go to settings >advance features >floating notifications >and select smart pop up view

hi thanks, this helps. however the pop up does not give an option to close the window of the messages app. There is no 'X' optionon the top right of the window. Earlier I was able to do so. sorry for the bother but would you know why this is the case
