It is simply unreasonable and outright senseless that the Note 8 is not getting the Android 10 update, for gods sake this is a $1000 flagship phone and you're telling me we only get 2 years of updates and now we're only gonna get security updates every 3 months? when it was monthly before... this is simply not enough. The latest lower end phones are getting android 10 while we are put in the back end when the specs are more than capable on handling this new update. Its despicable that Samsung is holding back updates for devices when they can easily be upgraded. Meanwhile the iPhone 6 a device that released 5 years ago in 2014 is STILL getting updates to this date and recently got iOS 12.4.4.
Well done brother. This is unacceptable what Samsung is doing. Outrageous to say the least. Don't understand what the difference between a flagship and their mid range phone is. 2 years of update for a phone which is already behind a version when releasing is pathetic.
It's sad, that people don't do adequate research before investing in a $1000 smartphone. I can understand your situation it feels bad to invest so much and get so little out of it. But that's how android is, unlike Apple, Android has multiple stakeholders.
For OEMs, the underlying issue is of economics, including huge time and cost implications, for updating older versions of Android. OEMs have to add a lot of code to Android to bring in new features, and they have multiple devices to develop for. Sadly, this dynamic isn't going to change anytime soon in the future too.
technically this is our 2nd major update ill show you how when note 8 came out in 2017 it came out with nougat while oreo was officially out back then it was Samsung's fault that they were lacking behind on os updates than they uodates note 8 to oreo within 2 3 months and **bleep** our first major update was gona ideally note 8 should've came with oreo out of the box but no and we lost one update which wasn't even a major one since its very minor difference between oreo and nougat and then the make pie our 2nd update which should be the first major one and hence making q our 2nd major update why are we paying for Samsung's delayed os updates ill never know same thing is with note 9
better to switch to Apple. i am having Note 9. Realized that Samsung is truly pathetic company. my next phone will only be iPhone. Samsung is disgusting. even it's hardware is low grade compared to Apple. just see the difference between Note 9 and two years old iPhone. in terms of speed, smoothness, camera take any department Apple outsmart Samsung
