The first thing a theif does is turn off phone as soon as it is snatched or stolen. Then it is later physically opened and before you could track it via Google's or Samsung's find my mobile service, its gone forever.

1. Why can't we have a simple feature to have phone ask for Pin/Password/Pattern/Biometrics as soon as the shut down button is pressed? This should be a feature all across the industry. Not sure if iPhones already has this feature or not. This should be a mandatory feature. Not having this is a big flaw in 2019 in smartphones industry

2. Also, I like to keep my GPS off to save battery and turn it on only for navigation. Now, if my phone is locked and gets stolen, it should ask for password/biometrics for turn off (or unlock, which it does thankfully) and after 3 failed attempts the GPS should turn on automatically so I could track my phone. And lets say if its not stolen and I just entered my password incorrectly, it can just give a small prompt that "GPS was turned on automatically upon 3 failed attempts to unlock". I could then turn off GPS only after unlocking my phone. This doesn't need to be a mandatory feature. However, it should be an optional one in settings.

1. Good to know since its not about Samsung, its about entire industry. So, great that they're all in it now.
2. Thanks for agreeing.

Bro..This is the beauty of Samsung that as soon as your Phone got locked it can't be Switched Off/Power Off without entering PIN/Passcode..& You won't find it on Asus, OnePlus, Mi etc...Yes But many things needs to be improve in Samsung too... for Securing your handset Security when stolen...Like Power off, Restart option should also not work in lock condition without Pin/Passcode, Making IMEI Tamper proof, reusability of Certain main hardware Components should be restricted for same other handset like apple (New one's), Permanently locked handset needs to be unlocked at Authorized Centres only with proper I'd even if warranty is completed etc....But still it's (Samsung's) Security is far better than many other Android Smartphones...Some of them highlighted above and here also, Screenshots attached...

Agreed. I have heard about Apple's new chip, I think its U1 or W1 or something.. Having a chip in phones which would turn on only when phone turns off and would remain on for at least 24 hours to send signals to nearby phones/towers etc would be awesome.
