I have a Samsung galaxy note 8 and I still haven't received the android pie update for my phone. It's pretty frustrating.

Install Samsung switch on your pc and connect your phone via cable. You will see an update button... Click on it to download. During this process you are not supposed to remove your phone from PC. Hope this works...

Even in Samsung switch it says that my software is up-to-date

get it to service center they will update it

I bought my phone from a retailer called "dialcom" they said they'll be able to update it but to backup my stuff cause it might get deleted... Doesn't seem right.

1st download latest samsung switch try if it shows any update
2nd if it doesn't go to Samsung firmware.com download the pie for rom for your variant download odin and flash it use samsung switch to backup first hope that helps
or just simply visit any samsung service center they'll update it for you.
