Power button doesnt wake up the phone.

Hi,
My note 8's screen got damaged a month ago, but from past two days the power button seems to be unresponsive. 
I have to press it atleast 10-15 times for my screen to wake up.
Even if the screen doesnt turn on by a single click, the usual touchscreen functions still work. Ex: I can still open the particular app by clicking the screen on the specific area.

Kindly help.

open your settings then click on display then scroll down then double tap to wake up

try hard press

search the setting for this there is a option for hard press to wake

Hi,
the hard press indeed works, but like I said before, the phone functions work normally even if the screen is black.
Ex: I can do hard press to wake up and then the slide the screen and unlock the phone using the patter or iris, but the screen will be black.
