Auto brightness in note 8 is useless is any one experiencing same it wasn't adjusting according to light conditions and too lazy....had to do it manually every time..irritating

yup. in my case its not every time but sometimes yes it does act slow or doesn't act at all.

Make sure the ambient light sensor is exposed to the same light as the rest of the screen. If that doesn't help, reset usage patterns as seen in the screenshot.

I too have this issue.. What I noticed is that it remembers the manual changes to brightness and overrides the automatic changes.. If you goto display settings you can get it to forget the learnings..
