I have written to Samsung regarding manufacturing defect in Galaxy note 8 multiple times which I have purchase the on 21 Jul 18 and started using on 30 Jul 18 as per record. Since I have busy schedule I could not use the mobile to it full extent hence I came to know in month of Sep only that there is heart beat sensor (Samsung health) in the mobile which is not working. I took help from samsung helpline and I was advised to go to service center in mid-October. I thought it must be small issue and finally reached service center on 27 Oct 18. However when I approached the center I was told that all the sensors are not working in the mobile. They ask me that whether display goes off while talking on phone for which I am not aware that it should. Being a non tech person I was not knowing. However he demonstrated that it is not going off in other phones. That’s when I realized there is serious problem in mobile, ,later I told the technician that I was facing problem with navigation since beginning for which I was blaming the Airtel which was not the actual case where as fault was lying with in mobile.
The technician advised me that phone need to opened for repairing. Since even the plastic covering was still not removed and phone is going for repairing, it was hurting me hence I denied for the same. I requested them for replacement for which they said please Contact Company directly.
I am sure you will understand that how difficult it is to buy a mobile costing Rs 55000.00 for a Govt servant. Hence, I returned from service store and contacted the helpline on Oct 27, 2018 for which I have to wait for 30 Mins before I could get a reply where I was ask to wait for a reply from Head Office team till Oct 29, 2018.
I waited for reply and a got call from Mr M Ali (Extn 1555) who advised me that I can not get replacement since It is company policy. I discussed with him and finally he said he acknowledge that It is manufacturing defect but he cannot do anything other than repair for which I was not ready since in that case there is no difference in refurbished and new phone. I also had strong suspicion that whether amazon had not sold me refurbished one. I contacted amazon also they assure me that it is not refurbished one but they can not replace it as it is beyond their 10 days window.
Now, my plea is where do I go ::
1. Whether it was my great mistake to rely on electronic giant like samsung and not relying on lot of other smaller company like One plus etc.
2. Is

2. Is it a good idea to repair a phone which is still like brand new without a single scratch with packing intact?
I am deeply hurt by the behavior of two big player in market (Amazon and Samsung).

I don't think you will get the replacement. coz we will get the replacement only if we report with in 10 days. i don't think consumer court also help you. if your device shows continuously issues even after repair then you can demand for replacement. but I doubt then also they will replace the phone with a refurbished one. I got replaced my note 8 screen due to touch sensitivity issue. Tobe honest Samsung service is best in class. they use factory equipment for repair. so opening the device will not cause any issue as far as my experience. ip68 too will restore after repair.

I dont think. When there sensors are not working why they should not replace. I will put everywhere my experience every where. They are cheating Indian by selling Note 8 on discount. Please search on Google regarding this sensor problem. If you have note 8 then please install samsung health and use heart beat sensor you will realise.
BTw only difference in new and refurbished is opening and rectify. it become refurbished. I will never buy Samsung stuff in future.

I can understand the situation. File a compliant . For time being and hassle free solution as of now Send the phone for repair. Lets hope it gets repaired. Extend the warranty.(samsung care extends warranty upto 2 yrs) By the time if there is any real collateral damage appearing because of repair (bcoz its such a huge time for cellphone to show off any problems), you can enquire with customer care again now demanding a better solution and also a strong consumer complaint u can build.
