Battery drain after software update

I have recently updated my software and after the update the battery is draining very fast. earlier my battery used to last for more than 24 hours but now it hardly goes for 4 to 5 hours. this is without using any processor intensive tasks or playing games. the phone is mostly warm for no reason.

These troubleshooting steps don't help..it's the software update that is the culprit..please suggest how to roll back the update
