I am experiencing severe overheating and rapid battery drain on my Samsung Galaxy M52 5G for the past two days. Despite minimal to no usage, the device becomes extremely hot and the battery drains completely within 3 hours while idle. Prior to this issue, I was getting around 7-8 hours of screen-on time.

My device is approximately 3.7 years old, and I recently replaced the battery about a month ago. The issue started suddenly and has persisted since this morning 01 May2025 , I noticed that the phone was extremely hot even though it had not been in use. Turning off Wi-Fi helps reduce the heat slightly, but the phone starts overheating again and again within seconds of re-enabling it.

Actions Taken:

Battery recently replaced (30 days ago)

Observed heat and battery drain only when Wi-Fi is turned on

No unusual apps running in the background

Request🙏
I need a permanent fix for this issue. Any help or recommendations are appreciated.

Facing the exact same problem. I didn't get my battery replaced before, but i thought this is a battery issue so I got it replaced. Didn't do anything.
So i tried resetting the phone as well. Nothing has changed.
I feel like this happened after i update the aprils Google Play Services but can't say for sure.

I even went to the Samsung service centre to ask why the issue is persisting even after I have gotten the battery changed. They said that it is a mother board issue now. I am thinking of getting the m56 now. Can't waste my time in this phone.

I've been having the same problem for the past week or so. Google Services drains my battery overnight if I left the charge at 50% or less.
