Microphone stopped working

My Galaxy M40's calling microphone has suddenly stopped working while i was on a call. It works on a speaker phone but when on normal call, the person on the other side is not able to hear my voice.

I tried switching carriers, restart my device.

Voice recording works, i am able to record and hear it. But doesnot work on calls. Does anyone know about this? Please help.

Okay now it is hardware issue for sure. You have to visit service center.

If it works on Speaker and doesn't work on earpiece, the mic is the same in both cases? Right? This has to be a software bug.

same with my m40, some time it works fine and sometime it shows the problem but when i restart my device then everything gets normal, it is happened after the last update , this must be a software bug, if ur phone is in warranty then u can go for the service center but if it don't have the warranty i will suggest u to wait for the next update,

i hope its a software bug, but its been quite long since the update rolled out. and my device is not in warranty period now

this isn't a software issue. this is my phone's hardware issue
