1. Rear mounted 

2. Side mounted 

3. In display fingerprint readers

P.S. I have a side mounted fingerprint reader and it is pretty good one.

Rear mounted is good. But many of us find it ugly. If not rear mounted one go for a side mounted scanner. I'm nit a big fan of indisplay fingerprint readers.

I totally agree with u on the rear mounted being ugly and also I would like to use the in display fingerprint Reader though.

Side mounted is better.
In display Fingerprint sensors in Samsung phones are slow except may be latest flagships.
