I purchased a Samsung Galaxy M31s phone in november 2020, After a recent update for enhanced performance and bug fixation , my phone started freezing and sometimes wavy screen on 15 august 2022, It finally switched off with only the logo visible which is not even letting the device get into the bootloader. I went to a nearby Samsung service centre at WECARE sector-7, Rohini, Delhi. Samsung Service Centre told me that the motherboard needs to be replaced and that will cost Rs. 9000/-.

Then I did a little research over internet which exposed there were over, 2000 people with the exact same complaint on the internet and Consumer Complaints forum regarding their phones (all Samsung M-series phones). The update caused the motherboard to fail.

Please, have a look at the disaster the updates have caused. And kindly provide a free motherboard replacement or refund the amount. It's a blunder done by Samsung and expecting customers to pay Rs. 9000 to get the motherboard replaced.

Motherboard issue is not only for Exynos 9611. Same issue in M51 & A52. Auto restarting and bootloop issues. Hardware issue is not solved by an update

It definitely seems like a software based problem, which causes hardware failure, because the problems are almost always there after a software update. M series phones with this issue were mostly from 2019 and 2020, whereas the issue started arising in 2021. Doesn't look like a hardware (or CPU) based issue to me. The reason why it affects only 9611 based devices could be a microcode update for the CPU which is breaking things.

Software issues breaking hardware is actually a well known thing in computer hardware.

Samsung has been providing free replacement for some users. Tell the service center guys that the issue is really widespread and that Samsung has started giving free motherboard replacements. If they deny, revert back to me and I will take it further with the team!
