Cannot transfer data/files to pc with M31s

M31s is a great device,  however,  I cannot connect it to pc or laptop to transfer data.  When i connect it to pc or laptop, it doesn't give options in notification bar to change from charging to MTP. It only charges the phone.  It it a bug? Or is it just my phone which is faulty? Or is there anither issue?

HI, I TRIED, YOUR SOLUTION IS NOT WORKING.

I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCESS MY MOBILE FILES FROM COMPUTER / LAPTOP, HENCE NO FILE TRANSFER DONE

launch settings>developer option>default usb configuration>file transfer..

if you want to enable developer option.
follow these steps launch settings >about phone>software information> tap 7 times on build number >now developer option will be available

Hi Raj,

Did all exactly and finally selected File Transfer also but when i connect my mobile even with the laptop in which i use to connect before regularly still it only shows charging options only. Please suggest if possible.
