So I was planning to change my notification sound for some apps so that I could differentiate between them just by sound. But I didn't get the option when I tried.
 Settings> Notifications>App notifications> Discord(for example)> and I get four options here
1. Allow notifications

2. Under Alert section
a. Allow sound and Vibration, or
b. Silent

3. Notification types
a. Lock screen
b. Badge
c. Pop-up

4. Lock screen notifications
a. Show content or
b. Hide

And that's it. There is no option for choosing a particular notification for a particular app.
So it's just in my phone or you guys are also dealing with the same problem. And is there any workaround for it?

Just now I found out thanks to the fellow users who have already answered here on the forum.
Here are the steps to follow:

Settings> Notifications> Advanced Settings> Manage Notification categories for each app(turn on)

Now

Settings>Notification>App notifications>Gmail(for example)> Notification categories

Under this option you are presented many other options which may very well be different for each app. But you can choose a particular sound for the notification here under Sound section. If you don't see the Sound section in the front you need to just tap on other similar options. Can't guide you at this stage bcz for each app you are provided with a different option. But it will be there!
