1. Flash twrap with odin 

2. Do a factory reset and clean delvik cash / cash

3. Then flash no verify and rmm state bypass

4. Then flash magisk zip file

5. Then reeboot your device

j8 is still supported by Samsung and it will receive android 10.so don't root it

As I moved forward through the link you provided above...I came to the conclusion that the developers haven't release Twrp for pie version...so wait for a second before making any decision forward.

you can use the twrap mentioned over there it is stable try that
