Only if u have a pb then resetting may be a soln. Phone life depends on how u use, it dosent die for half an hour of resetting. U may have done worse things like keeping wifi,bluetooth and other apps on even if u r not using. There is a thing called as backup which saves ur mobile settings and apps/music/games, which u can retrieve via usb or data.
Just like std mileage ratings for vehichles tested in lab, the update is not tested under all the possible conditions a smartphone goes through. There may b multiple no of situations, when u reset it will having a finite situation and a soln which makes the mobile trouble free after updating

No but it is a solution of the problems created by the user. Resetting phone once in two or three months is good for device health. After every software update it helps phone to run smoothly.

that's why not doing it....in that new security patch there is bug..adaptive display..it's using camera in the background and flash light and face detection not working...see my previous post..

Yep bro saw ur post. No much help have to play the waiting game after reporting as ur doing now. This is the problem with OTA updates. Earlier smartphones had pc softwares, where u could download previous stable version and reinstall it in mobile within few minutes.
Theres only 2 pc samsung softwares one is kies and smartswitch. I dont think it has that option either to rollback to previous stable version.

Only a few software problems can be rectified by resetting your phone to Factory Settings. For others you need to visit the Samsung Care.
