Galaxy AIt closes/kills apps if battery saving mode is on automatically by Adaptive battery feature.
Or your apps will keep active in the background if not for hours.
Also depends on your mobile's RAM optimization.

Galaxy AAlso turns on battery saving mode when your battery goes below a particular percentage (Most probably 50%).
Just turn this on & you not gonna need to turn on battery saving mode manually when your phone running out of battery juice.
I recommend this to turn this on.
