yeh whn it's turned on...suppose you don't use ur device for a while thn this feature optimizes apps which are running in background and saves your battery by closing them

It closes/kills apps if battery saving mode is on automatically by Adaptive battery feature.
Or your apps will keep active in the background if not for hours.

Adaptive battery is a feature which tracks your phone usage (not your data) to learn the usage patterns to save battery accordingly. Just turn it on and you are done, but you need to turn it on after every restart.

This is the battery optimization feature which learns & smartly optimizes battery consumption during mobile usage & turn on/off battery saving mode automatically according to your usage pattern & which applications you are using for a period of time.
Also turns on battery saving mode when your battery goes below a particular percentage (Most probably 50%).

Just turn this on & you not gonna need to turn on battery saving mode manually when your phone running out of battery juice.
