even though software update comes to fix the hardware will remain same it cannot be fixed at all that is why captive sensors are good for fingerprint

Fingerprint sensor has been improved a lot with the latest update, software updtaes fixes the issue , they can change the internal algorithms to improve accuracy.
Note:Try to re-register fingerprint again after the update.

All we can do is hope the next update fixes it. Because the previous one worked for many and didn't work for many too.
