The following things should be taken care of when your device receives a software update:
1. Never download and install any update as soon as it arrives.
2. Wait for 2-6 weeks before downloading and installing the update as it may contain some bugs [It's normal for bugs to creep in the update].
3. Timely check Samsung Members app, websites for information about any one, with same device as yours, facing issues with the update.
4. After few weeks if you find that bugs have been resolved or security patch has been released then you may download and install the update.
5. Always record while downloading and installing the update, from a secondary device so that you have proof just in case you need to visit a service centre.
6. After installing a new update, try to reboot every day and keep the surroundings cool so that phone doesn't get very warm while using.
7. The device needs some time to optimize after a new update is installed.
