fellow members need help
my father gave his samsung phone to repair in a local shop in India as the charging port was not working and the back cover came off now after repair when I insert my Sim into it it it does not recognize that I have a Sim un the phone I have tried restaring it hard restarting it but not factory reset as I have a lot if important photos and data in it the phone guy said go to service center they will update the phone it will work it it true will it work and I have an update with me pending if I do that will it work or not pleas help I can't afford another phone

I would say not to give your phone to unofficial persons for repairing. When your charging port was not working, it could mean that it was broken. Local repairing shops have local parts which might not support your phone but in return can damage your phone as well. If your phone is not recognising the SIM then man... I'm sorry to say that they have messed up the SIM section.
