Hi Team,
I bought brand new Samsung A55 256gb smart phone few days back. Now while using Google maps gps signal is lost and not showing the correct locations. It shows searching for gps and gives wrong readings. I have updated the maps, cleared the cache and data of maps, made settings with accurate location, reset network settings, all possible solutions that fixes the issue.. but still not working.

Please help me to confirm whether I have a bad device with bad gps network or any setting or software issues

Hello, same issue here. I'm not using navigation for long trips often. But when I do, going to holidays etc. the problem occurs. Google Maps working fine for about an hour or two. During this time I noticed that labels on map vanish (road names, city names) - this is the first sign something is wrong. And then, suddenly "GPS signal lost", the arrow on map is going crazy. Navigation is not working. The only solution is to restart the device. Afterwords it's working again for some time. My last 8h trip - had to restart twice. In the meantime my wife's Samsung helped - it was showing the route correctly (she has Samsung M model, weaker and cheaper but working...).

I tried all the clear cache, clear memory, reinstall etc. Nothing helped. Someone wrote here that after software update it seems to be working. So I just updated to A556BXXU4AXH1 an hour ago and hope this helps. From my point of view it's not the hardware problem. Only Google Maps are affected.

My wive and I both have the same problem with our new Galaxy A55 5G 256GB phones. Newest update doesn't solve it and removing data, clearing cache, or removing apps updates neither. The phones software is uptodate, so the latest update hasn't solved it for us.

Since some other GPS apps seem to reach GPS fine, it seems to be a problem with this phone in connection to the default Google maps app embedded in Android.

All alternative apps that seem to use (rely on) the default maps functionality, have the same problem, only apps that have their own map functionality still work fine. The latter indicating it's not a hardware problem, as much as a software problem.

It may be some issue with an Android device driver or maps in this phone type.

It's a struggle, since we rely on this app a lot. Please Samsung fix this bug! We need the maps functionality!

Ok, I think I found the problem. The problem started when I have downloaded to many offline maps to google maps app. I've deleted them all and the problem disappeared.
