Red color badge icon on my whatsapp app

From Oct 22nd I'm noticing a red color badge icon is appearing on my whatsapp app (left side of the app), And it's not the notification badge icon but quite similar to that. I'm using galaxy a71 device so please if anyone having same issue or having knowledge about this issue please share with me. Your help will be much appreciated...🙏😊

nothing....it will go automatically.....recent devices it's coming to indicate new installed app just

Thank you really I was worried from last couple days due this red icon. cause I'm using galaxy a71 (samsung device) for the very first time... .

solution: Go to Notification setting
and App icon badges and select number

no I've checked my notification settings is set to numbers and I'm getting number notification as well.... . It's different it's not your message notification... .
