Over the past three weeks my keyboard tends to double type some letters. This goes on and off, it started when I was using Gboard, I then switched to my Samsung keyboard and the problem went away, only to return a week later.
Strangely enough it hasn't done it once in this post that I am currently typing.
Are there any fixes for this issue or any reasons why it might be happening ??

Please try the troubleshooting steps below;

  1. Restart your phone: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Press and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device restarts ( this will not erase data, it is just to reboot the device)

  2. Clear keyboard app cache: Go to Settings > Apps > [Keyboard app] > Storage > Clear Cache.

  3. Check for system updates: Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and install if there are any updates available.

  4. Check for rogue apps: Occasionally, third-party apps can interfere with keyboard functionality. Try booting your phone into safe mode (usually by holding the power button, then long-pressing the "Power off" option) and see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, a third-party app might be causing the problem.

  5. Reset app settings: Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Settings. This will reset all settings on your phone, including keyboard settings.

  6. Factory reset: If none of the above steps work, consider backing up your data and performing a factory reset. This will erase all data on your phone, so make sure to back up anything important first.
