Hi Samsung Members,

I need advice for a Samsung Galaxy SM-A236V / Galaxy A23 5G with a broken screen.

The phone was switched off/restarted, so now it requires the PIN before fingerprint unlock will work again. I do know the PIN, but a large part of the screen/touch area is broken, so I can’t enter it properly.

The phone also has a pattern lock, but at the moment the lock screen is only asking for the PIN after restart.

I tried connecting an OTG keyboard/mouse, but the phone says it cannot read USB until the phone is unlocked. I want to avoid a factory reset because I need the data on the phone.

Has anyone successfully unlocked this model in this situation using:

a powered USB-C hub with a wired keyboard,
a Samsung service/repair centre temporarily connecting a screen,
any official Samsung data recovery option,
or another safe method that does not wipe the phone?

Please note: I am not trying to bypass security. I own the phone and know the PIN. I just can’t input it because the screen is damaged.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Get a parts phone (FRP Lock) with a working screen-dont worry, parts can be used interchangeably as long as its listed as an SM-A236V or get an LCD Replacement

And try repairing it yourself using an IFIXIT guide(can be a fun project)

Get the screen replaced, no need to unlock your phone for screen repair
