Galaxy AHi, I had used A50 to share wifi with laptop but after the update to Android 10 and UI 2 my laptop stopped seeing my hotspot. I guess that the wireless frequency (ap band) was changed to 5 ghz and my laptop does not support it.
How can I go back to 2.4?
Thanks in advance.

Galaxy AI have this issue solved my way time ago with no app required.
I have multiple smart things connected to my network, which supports 5GHz and 2.4GHz. I had the same issue that everyone has reported (unbelievable otherwise that this option has been deactivated 😞 ....) My mobile automatically takes the 5GHz with no option to change it, so every time that I want to add something new to my smart installation where normally the devices only support 2.4GHz I was not able to add it until I thought about the following work-around.
My simple solution to this is:
-turning off my mobile
-deactivating 5GHz temporarily from my router settings
- turning on mobile which now will take 2.4GHz
- connecting the new element to the network
- then reactivating back the 5GHz option
Not ideal but sufficiently fast and effective.
You can actually leave 5GHz permanently switched off on every routing existing in the market if that suits you.
I prefer to have it on as I need the best possible network as I work from home.
(We actually only use 5GHz with laptops, tablets and mobiles as the majority of the smart devices like alarm, lighting and heating elements in my case, only support 2.4GHz at the current times of Nov2022).
There's a much better solution if your router allows so (mine does not, unfortunately). Some routers allow to give a different name like an alias to the two options 5GHz or 2.4GHz. If you are able to do that in your router, then you can see 2 different networks from your mobile what allows you to choose the one that you need. My old TalkTalk router allowed me to do so in the router configurations but I cannot do it now with my full fibre BT/TP-Link set.
I hope this helps but I am seriously disappointed with this terrible choice by Android/Samsung whoever is to be blamed for it.
