Hi everyone,
After updating my Galaxy A55 to One UI 7 (Android 14), I encountered a serious microphone issue:
  • During calls, the other party cannot hear me unless I switch to speakerphone or use a Bluetooth headset.
  • The default Voice Recorder app captures (like whatsapp voice notes) no sound.
  • Videos recorded with the front camera have no audio.
Troubleshooting steps I've taken so far:
  • Booted into Safe Mode (to rule out third-party app conflicts): Issue persists.
  • Performed a factory reset: No improvement.
  • Confirmed that system software is fully updated.
Before updating to One UI 7, the microphone worked perfectly. The issue only appeared right after the software update.
My questions:
  • Has anyone else experienced microphone issues after the One UI 7 update?
  • Could this be a software-related bug in the latest firmware?
  • Are there any known fixes, workarounds, or official acknowledgments from Samsung?
  • Would it be better to wait for a software patch, or should I proactively replace the hardware (mic flex or USB port assembly) at a repair shop?
Any advice, similar experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
