I updated my ZFlip 6 to Android 16/OneUI 8 I believe 2 weeks ago, and to be completely honest, have not had a good experience.
Let me just adress the issue of why OneUI 8 exists in the first place. Hardly anything has changed. It seems Samsung rushed to get this update out and thus didn't have time to add features we actually want. Yes they added the dynamic lock screen clock, but even that doesn't work on half the wallpapers I try to use it on.
Perhaps more importantly, I think OneUI 8 has actually made my experience with my phone worse. Since I installed the update I've had these issues:
Volume pop-up menu and volume adjustment delay. The pop-up started sometimes only appearing multiple seconds after pressing the button, once it literally only changed after a minute.
Laggy notification/quick control panel.
Battery drain.
And today my phone made me stop what I was doing because it was overheating (while I was literally editing photos in Lightroom), which had NEVER happened before, even though I've used it in extreme temperatures and very performance intensive tasks. Just what the fu@k Samsung! This is a bloody flagship phone (from last year obv, bit still).
OneUi 8 seems super rushed, and I really hope that Samsung will resolve these issues and bring actual improvements wirh OneUi 8.5.
Switching to iPhone seems very appealing at the moment...
Yea that can be anoying. For the lag, major updates, even if they are so minor like this one, are not fully optimized yet. Thid means there is more lag and baterie drain. For the overheating, Z flip devices overheats more easily since they are more comapct and there is a extra screen that makes the componants closer. My mom has a Zflip 5 ans it gets hot very easily.
Samsung really needs to sort this out i dint have wifi network Bluetooth and now I see my screen touch is acting up all straight after the update I'll give it few months if no talk I rather go back to apple I never had thos type of issues especially no wifi from October till date
