Troubleshooting Samsung Galaxy Watch Lock During Workouts

Problem Description
___________________

It sounds like your Samsung Galaxy Watch is locking during workouts, which is definitely inconvenient if you have to keep unlocking it to check your vitals and progress.

Here are a few things you can check to troubleshoot this issue:

Check Wrist Detection
___________________

**Wrist Detection**: Ensure that the wrist detection feature is enabled. Go to *Settings* > *Security and Privacy* > *Lock* > *Wrist Detection*.

This feature keeps the watch unlocked while it's on your wrist.

Review Workout Mode Settings
___________________

**Workout Mode Settings**: Some workout modes might lock the screen to prevent accidental touches.

You can check and adjust this setting by going to the workout settings on your watch.

Adjust Touch Sensitivity
___________________

**Touch Sensitivity**: If you’re wearing gloves or your watch isn’t detecting your touch well, you might want to increase touch sensitivity.

Go to *Settings* > *Advanced* > *Touch Sensitivity*.

Enable Always On Display
___________________

**Always On Display**: Enabling the Always On Display can keep the screen active during workouts.

This can be found in *Settings* > *Display* > *Watch Always On*.

Recalibrate Security
___________________

**Recalibrate Security**: If the watch is still locking, try removing and re-adding your security settings (PIN, Pattern, etc.) to see if that resolves the issue.

Restart Watch and Check for Updates
___________________

If none of these solve the problem, it might be worth restarting your watch or checking for any software updates that could address this bug.

Well, keeping the screen on keeps it on... But that kills the battery... To me that's not a solution.

Wrist ditiction is on

If you delete the pin, Samsung deletes your credit card.

I don't think it's a defective device, I just don't think it's work out focused like my ex watch Garmin.

I want the screen off when I am not looking, and when I look, it should take me to my progress... Not ever your pin

100% Agreed, I'm facing the same issue without workouts, just when the watch moves on my wrist, or after a shower, apparently it's 'thinking' that it was removed and auto locking itself, sometimes i have to unlock it several times. It is supposed to work as intended, without workarounds nor compromises. It's the first watch that i face this problem with, hoping an update would address this issue.

To address your concern, please ensure that your watch is set up to display workout information on the screen without needing constant unlocking. You may want to check the following:

1. Enable the “Always On Display” feature for workout data. This can be done through the settings on your watch.

2. Review the lock screen settings to ensure that they are configured to allow quick access to workout stats.

I this is the part Samsung should say we will address this PROBLEM, I believe the best fix for the issue I am facing is to go back to Garmin and put it on... When I choose run, I should be able to see my progress without a lock screen.... And still don't want it always on like you are suggesting. Might as well suggest that I attach it to a power bank while running to satisfy an always on screen while work out.
