Nothing happens as the phone automatically cuts off charging at 100 percent. Just touch the charger 10 minutes after the phone have fully charged. It will be very cool because it has stopped working regardless of being plugged in.
However, it is advised not to charge your phone to 100 percent on a regular basis. Ideally you should keep it between 20 to 80 percent . However, you can charge up to 90. The idea is not to fully charge it.

Dear Rohan,
Overnight charging, It will make your battery efficiency down. So don't charge your phone overnight and
If you want your battery life will longer then don't charge your phone over 90% , generally always charge upto 90% it will keep your battery relaxed.
And never use phone while charging .

Nowadays, there is no problem charging your phone upto 100% and overnight. It was a problem 10-20 years ago. However, I won't recommend charging your phone the whole night because this isn't reduced the battery backup a bit by around 20%. Your phone turns off the charging itself as soon as the phone reaches 100%

Nothing happens if this happens for few times... But don't do it occasionally, otherwise it will damage your phone over time.. even though nowadays the chargers have become smart and can stop charging when the battery is at full charge but they are still dumb in a sense that they don't do this once and for all... πŸ˜‚
In simple words, battery drainage happens simultaneously with charging.. after your phone has fully charged and charging cuts off some drainages occurs idly.. and again the charger kicks in to fill the charge upto full and this keeps happening until you disconnect the phone physically..
However, if you are to disconnect the phone every time just after full charge, it's also going to be problem.. can't explain the total science now.. avoiding full charge will be good..

Can you give me any scientific evidence pls? I have studied on this extensively. This is just a myth and modern phones and Li ion batteries just cannot overcharge.
And yes charging your phone to 100 percent damages the phone in the long time.
Also plugging into charger all the time is not good because as soon as the phone goes below 100,for eg on 99,the phone will charge again to 100. And this may happen several time over night. This increases the charging cycle in the long run.
However, this is NOT due to overcharging.
Nb: I am open to change my mind if you can prove it.

U can try it for yourself...if u have got 2 phones then overcharge one of them frequently and charge the other one properly( i mean dont overcharge)...in the long run u will get to know which is going to age sooner...i am saying it from my experience.

See, the phone cuts the charging it self as soon as it touches hundred percent. This was a problem 10 years ago. He told right lithium ion battery don't have such problems, but charging the phone everyday, the whole night might reduce the battery backup
