Tech TalkThe new update of the Samsung Smart Switch brings in a new UI with the Device Initialization making a comeback!
Smart Switch, for those who don't know, is a piece of software on Windows (I use Windows, so don't know much about other platforms) by Samsung for backup/restoring your Samsung device, do a full software update after it is released via OTA before so that you can have a clean OS with each update. There was a Device Initialization option before in v4.1 but was removed for some unknown reasons. But with Version 4.3.22044_1.
Device Initialization is used to restore your device to factory settings by reinstalling the firmware. It's similar to Odin for flashing the OS, but is done automatically by Smart Switch.
With the new update, the UI looks more lovely, minus the dark mode, which is simply not present.
Some Screenshots
I will do the Device Initialization today and let you know how it goes since Samsung has stopped providing updates for the Galaxy A71 anyways.
Update: Device Initialization doesn't work on the already updated devices. The expected feature of factory restoring by reflashing is yet not available. Samsung, bring that back.
