Slowing down the phone?

Does Samsung slow down the previous generation phone around the launch of new one? Or only Apple does so?

It is a debatable topic. Due to some misfired software updates people may feel so. But, honestly, you can get the best possible experience on any phone only with it's first and original firmware. Further updates are most likely to spoil it
