Screen timeout is grayed out

Yesterday my screen timeout settings was grayed out and i was not able to change it , but i observed that it happened after my battery was less than 5 and after charging it was working . I want know what is this called and why it happened?

It is made to save battery. Likewise you can't use your flashlight when charge is under 5%. These are few steps to conserve battery.

Is it default settings? Even my battery saver wasnt on

Yes it is default. Once charge is under 5% it limits features, like reducing brightness, and others like i mentioned
