Samsung’s long-awaited One UI 7 update has had a rocky start. While the software brings a fresh wave of features and performance improvements, its rollout has been anything but smooth. After facing criticism for delays and a lack of clear communication, Samsung has now issued a formal One UI 7 advisory that may not offer much comfort to users still waiting on the update.

Samsung says it could pause the One UI 7 rollout without notice
In a move that signals a more cautious approach, Samsung has now publicly warned users that the One UI 7 update can be delayed or paused even after its official release. The advisory outlines the company’s right to halt updates in case any issues arise, effectively putting users on standby — indefinitely if needed. Here’s what Samsung’s One UI 7 advisory says:

Update schedule and eligible models could be changed if we encounter any issues through ongoing review
The update may also be halted for a while even after the official update, when an emergency fix is occurredThis shift in communication appears to be a response to the backlash Samsung received in recent weeks. After a long wait, the One UI 7 update officially started rolling out on April 7. However, the company quickly halted the rollout due to undisclosed software problems. After a pause of 4-5 days, Samsung resumed the rollout earlier today.

Don’t complain, wait for the update patiently: Samsung
Samsung’s message is clear: even if your device is listed and the update has been announced, there’s no guarantee you’ll get it on time — or at all, if bugs pop up. The company has essentially added a layer of fine print to its update promises. If another pause happens, Samsung already has its disclaimer in place.

This not-so-pleasant advisory comes as part of Samsung’s official One UI 7 rollout roadmap for India, which itself is a bit disappointing. The company doesn’t expect to finish updating all eligible models until July. Depending on the Galaxy device you are using, you may have to wait another three months for the big update.
