Samsung announces Exynos 1580 for Upcoming A series smartphones with improved performance and AI capabilities

Samsung has unveiled its latest mobile processor, the Exynos 1580, which succeeds the Exynos 1480 found in the Galaxy A55 smartphone. Built on a 4nm process using Armv9 cores, the Exynos 1580 features a tri-cluster CPU architecture with one Cortex-A720 core clocked at 2.9GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at 1.95GHz, offering enhanced performance and power efficiency.

• The Exynos 1580 also boasts an upgraded Xclipse 540 GPU, promising up to 37% better performance compared to its predecessor. It now has two Work Group Processors (WGPs) instead of one, increased GL2 cache capacity, and twice the amount of FMA/texture unit processing, resulting in improved graphics capabilities.

• Additionally, the Exynos 1580 includes an NPU with a processing speed of up to 14.7 trillion operations per second (TOPS) and a memory capacity increased to 2 MB, delivering high-quality AI experiences. The SoC supports a Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, up to 200MP camera, 4K video recording at 60fps, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4
