What is RCS
Rich communication service (RCS) is a communication protocol between mobile telephone careers and between phone and careers, aiming at replacing SMS messages app with the text message system that is richer, provides phonebook polling (for service Discovery), and can transmit in call multimedia. It is a part of broader IP multimedia subsystem
Introduction of RCS
Google announced the roll out as Android primary texting platform for everyone who uses the Android messages app, and many Android phones come with Android messages installed. Last year, Google and Samsung announced a partnership that allows RCS feature to work seamlessly between the Samsung messages and Android messages apps, the default SMS app on their devices.
Goals of RCS
• Use a better contact list that included things like more information about your people, if they were available and if they have seen the message you have sent.
• Build a better messaging system that enables extra like instant chat emojis and sharing data between people participating.
• Support enhanced call like feature like video calling and data sharing in real time.
