As we all know One UI is still the most stable and feature packed UI, with samsung giving regular updates to improve it further. This time with Android 13 and ONE UI 5, this is the list of most practical and user demanding features and UI changes required in One UI 5.

FEATURES

1.Hold on recycle bin to delete forever

How many times it occured to you that you want to delete a file/image forever at once without moving it to recycle bin? For me, it happens always. It would be nice to see a option to delete forever while we tap and hold on recycle bin icon in apps like My Files/Gallery, etc.

2.An option in wallpaper and style to choose font, text size, icon pack, icon size, etc.

An integrated place to choose wallpaper and themes, color pallete, font, text size, icon pack, icon size, etc. would be super useful.

2.1Addition of choose systemwide icon packs/ third party icon packs.

2.2More free fonts.

2.3Addition of vertical scrolling.

3.Battery Health section

Addition of an option to show battery health percentage, battery health in mAh, battery wear after each charge, useful tips to save battery life, battery usage, cut of charging while reaching a specific temperature, protect battery health, etc.

4.Integration of google lens in gallery
It would be super useful to add lens option in gallery in order to translate/ scan QR code/ get results easily, along with easy floating buttons to copy text, listen to the text, etc.

5.Take screenshot/copy text/translate directly from recent apps menu.

With Android 12, Google pixel devices got the option to take screenshot or copy text directly from recent apps screen menu. It is super useful while multitasking. A similar feature in One UI should be added.

6.Turn off RAM plus completely

As far as I know, this feature is in changelog of beta 1, so no description required.

7.Addition of stop charging at a selected percentage.

While to battery protect feature with One UI 4, which stops charging at 85% would be life saver for many. But also, most of us would like to choose stop charging at a particular percentage from 75 to 95.

8.Addition of App lock with Knox security
No description required.

9.Addition of Internet Speed Meter
No description required.

10. Material you Volume Panel and color pallete in dark theme

While most of the UI elements changes according to color pallete, volume panel is the one still doesn't reflect the change. This should be fixed.

11. Auto-change wallapapers

With addition to color pallete, there should be a setting in Galaxy themes> Wallpaper to change the wallpaper each day or to give option to chose from each day, 1 hours, 4 hours, etc.

12. Auto apply most relevant color pallete

The whole point of material you design and color pallete is to automatically change the system UI elements color after wallpaper is changed. But after setting a new wallpaper, it asks to choose from color pallete/ you have to manually do it. This should be automatic with user to change if he/she doesn't like.

UI CHANGES

1.Shortening of background fill

Believe me, just by shortening the background fill of toggles/ settings in different UI places will improve the UI so much.

2.Consistent icons/toggles

While samsung recently changing from abstract UI to more colorful and filled icons, the old design still looks better. However, a consistentcy is required all over the UI.

3.Change icon shapes from squarial to circle

While almost everyone got used to samsung's design langauge, doesn't mean that everyone likes it. And with no surprise, most of us don't like the squarial icon shape and would prefer circular any day.

4.Change in old status bar icons

Well, it's already late but for good, the status bar icons are too old and requires modern icons like in Android 12.

5.Improve animations and UI
Most of the animation feels sluggish in One UI 4.1. A overhaul is required along with additional animations at places like double tapping on lock screen, power button, etc.

Yes, almost every point you mentioned is 👍.
But, I think that even the android 12 status bar icons are the old ones. They also haven't updated them.

And to me personally as compared to Stock Android 12 icons, I like the Samsung's(the status bar icons as well as the app icons), but yes, they should update them.
( I personally hate the circular design!😔)
Great points, bro!

Thanks.

Yup, even the Google's status bar has not been updated since Android 10 or 11 I guess.

Design choice and UI looks are personal preferences. Some might hate one's, others might like. That's why samsung should give an option to change it according to user taste.
