The Galaxy S24 series ships with One UI 6.1. Additionally, Samsung also brought One UI 6.1 to a few older high-end Galaxy devices last month. Although there are many useful features added, a few new issues have emerged. Recently, we discovered that Samsung has made a change to the notification system that may annoy some users

Since Android 8.0, Android has offered a feature called notification categories, which allows you to choose what types of notifications apps can send. For example, you can use this feature to allow Instagram to send notifications for comments but block notifications for likes. Of course, Samsung's Galaxy devices also support this feature.

Turns out, Samsung has disabled this feature by default on phones and tablets running One UI 6.1. So, if you use notification categories for apps on One UI 6.0, those tweaks won't work with One UI 6.1 by default. Some users are very upset with this change. Luckily, you can manually enable notification categories and any tweaks you impose will reappear. You just need to go to Settings → Notifications → Advanced settings → Manage notification categories for each application.
