There are a list of new updates released now for various phones from November and December patches for galaxy users.
Honestly I'll tell you to stop auto updating your devices for a little while for now. I have seen multiple posts by galaxy members in members app, reddit and other platforms complaining about bad software update patches. Few of the users got their phones bricked (Dead Motherboard Issue) after update and a lot of them have gotten display issues. So, I suggsst update after a little while unless necessary to do instantly. I don't know whats happening or is the issue resolved but S and Fe series are most ones having this issue. Ot could be heart breaking for someone to see the repair costs of motherboard so, take care.
As far as I know previously there was S22 series free replacement by Samsung but not at the moment. Samsung haven't said anything about the issues or given free replacements or promises better hardware reliability + warranty on upcoming flagships.
Also, know Samsung service centres can charge labour charges and add other few exclusions for free replacement. Meaning technically even if its not your fault you might end up paying around 1k if you are lucky and device has no physical damages.
Also, if someone knows tags for this kind of issue please let me know in comments so others can find my assumptions on poor hardware/ bad update bug.
A personal note to Samsung team;
Please consider the following;
- I know phone issue due to software are rare but please check updafes internally on test phones before rolling out for everyone.
- If Software is not the problem do improve hardware.
- If hardware is also not the problem, then give better warranty on display, motherboard for peace of mind. Few brands provide better warranty on display and motherboard hardware. So, please step up this game.
- Try making phone more modular so replacement prices can be bought down by dividing crucial parts from chipset.
- Serve as a beacon for right to repair laws in smartphone industry like Fairphone and CMF is trying to do.
- Also, try more repairable Approach for sustainable future.
