Non Standalone Network: Where 5G network uses the 4G network for its service, which is cheaper (because it uses the cell towers of 4G Network) and faster way to provide the service. And provides data at fast speed than the LTE Network. 

5G Network connected over LTE Network i.e. Non Standalone Network

Standalone Network: As the name suggests, it is independent 5G Network, very expensive as the infrastructure should be started from zero. And this network gives us all the techie stuffs, virtual reality, fastest data speed, automation tech and all the claimed advances possible through 5G Network.

Please do read more about NSA in any article on the internet. It is the 5G network in LTE Network. And also Samsung defined NSA network in their user manuals. You can see it in the above screenshot.

Your information was right but not complete .. when you're connected to 5G network .. there's no difference between NSA or SA 5G icons

It won't. Not possible. If it's connected in NSA the base network is LTE Network hence the icon will be the other one as of NSA 5G icon. You can refer to the Samsung user manual.
