Features that we want to see in Samsung One UI 6+

Below are some of the features that I think Samsung One UI 6 should have. Over the years of using One UI, I really found these features to be missing, and most of them are "must-haves.".

1. "Silent Notifications" Category

Please bring back the Silent Notification category like that in One UI 4. It was very convenient to declutter the abundant notifications we receive from numerous apps and focus on what we need.

2. Pin Notification(s)

It would be convenient if there was a feature or ability to pin a certain number of notifications from not clearing so that we could follow up with that later.

3. Network Speed Meter

I think almost all Android phones have it out of the box, yet we have to install third-party apps to get such a feature. Please add such a feature to Settings/Good Lock.

4. Quick Settings Panel Grid Size

Please add a setting so that we can decide how many quick-setting icons we can have in the grid. I think there is so much space being wasted.

5. Quick Settings Icon Shapes

Almost everything in One UI is squaricle shape while somehow the quick settings panel icons ended up circles. That disparity is sometimes is an eyesore. If there was an option to set the icon shapes through settings or Themes app, it would mean a more personal touch.

6. App Lock not through Secure Folder 

Rather than adding or copying apps that we need to protect to a Secure Folder, we all would like to see a finger print or pin security lock over apps that we define. So that when we try launching an app, a security authentication prompt is shown.

Almost all the other Android implementations are doing that, and we expect Samsung to do the same.

7. More interesting and Useful AoDs

I have been a fan of AoD since my Samsung S7 Edge. Yet it was very basic; it was almost exclusive to Samsung back in the day. Now every other brand has caught up with AoD and is doing creative and visually good AoDs with their own. But the Samsung AoD is almost 90% the same as the inception, and no innovation or usefulness was added to this. And unfortunately, the available designs are mostly static, simple, or boring compared to other implementations. Also, the colors available for the customizations are very limited, and there is no option to choose custom colors. At least retain the original Android 14 AoDs.

8. Per App Network Restrictions/Permissions

Please add the ability to restrict the type of network data an app can use. So that we can choose what kind of network an app can use, like mobile data, wifi, both, or none.

9. Network Check

It would be very convenient if there was a official network speed meter inside Settings/Device Care/Good Lock so that we can see and verify the Speed, IP details, Signal Quality etc.

10. Samsung Finder Widget

Please give us a homescreen widget that can be used to invoke the Samsung One UI Home Finder/Search activity so that we don't have to use the Google/3rd party search widgets.

No problem, you can Install GoodLock from Galaxy Store and after installation, you can check what all plugins are available for your device
