I know this is a Samsung based platform but does anyone know if Google Chromecast firmware update problem has been fixed or not?

Yes, Google is currently rolling out a fix for the firmware update issue affecting second-generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio devices. This problem, which began around March 9, 2025, caused "untrusted device" errors due to an expired security certificate. The fix is being deployed over the next few days, and your device should automatically update when connected to Wi-Fi.

Important: If you've performed a factory reset on your device, you might still experience issues. Google is actively working on a resolution for these cases and advises users to monitor their support page for updates.

In the meantime, some users have reported temporary success by setting their phone's date to before March 9, 2025, completing the Chromecast setup, and then reverting to the current date. However, this workaround may not be effective for everyone and could interfere with other applications.

For the latest information and guidance, please refer to Google's official support channels.
