Hello Samsung Product Team,

I am a long-time Galaxy user writing to request a critical software feature addition for upcoming One UI updates: system-level API integration for motorized gimbal stabilizers, similar to Apple’s DockKit framework.

Currently, mobile videographers using Galaxy smartphones are heavily restricted when using motorized gimbals (like the DJI Osmo Mobile series). Because tracking and motor-control processing are locked behind proprietary third-party apps, we lose access to the superior image processing, high-bitrate Pro Video features, specialized lenses, and custom color profiles found exclusively in the native Samsung Camera app.

If we attempt to use the native Samsung Camera app or stream via third-party social apps, the gimbal functions only as a static stabilizer because the phone cannot output motor commands back to the accessory.

Requested Functionality:

  1. System-Level Accessory Control API: Introduce an open framework within One UI that allows certified motorized accessories to communicate directly with the operating system via Bluetooth/NFC.
  2. Native Subject Tracking: Allow the native Samsung Camera app to offload tracking algorithms (object, face, pet) to command connected external gimbal motors natively.
  3. Third-Party Open Access: Enable ecosystem partners like DJI, Insta360, and Zhiyun to utilize this API so their hardware works seamlessly across the entire One UI interface, including native video calls and social media apps.

Samsung has always led the industry in providing "Pro" creative tools for creators. Adding this native integration would significantly elevate the Galaxy mobile filmmaking workflow and remove a major bottleneck for Android content creators.

Thank you for your time and for continuously listening to user feedback.
