Block/Allow both foreground and background internet access to certain apps
Internet Firewall
1. To permanently block internet access to the apps
- which are more likely to collect and sell our data (you just know it)
- which contain sensitive information and don't actually need internet to work (apps for personal diary, daily routine, finances, etc.)
2. To block internet access to an app for a while for scenarios like
- one doesn't want to receive any messages from a certain app (let's say WhatsApp), but keeping the internet on.
3. To blockmobile data access to certain apps which consume heavy data and only allowwifi data when available.
Problem:
Ad-funded free apps, especially games won't be able to show ads, which is definitely going to affect their revenue. But, developers can implement a blocking feature if they want, which will restrict the user from using the app unless the internet access is granted. But the volume of such people doing this is probably be so low as they will only want to protect their data and privacy and not affect someone's revenue.
