Caller ID and Spam Protection

 Does this feature (Hiya) need Internet connection to work/identify "Caller ID" or "Spam calls"?

I mean, If I turn off the Mobile data and then get a Spam call, will this feature work/identify the Spam call or not?

UPDATE:
I've checked the feature multiple times, @samsung support team telling us a Lie.
This feature doesn't work without internet.
